Juan Carlos Valencia González (“O3”) has assumed leadership of the cartel. He is known to be El Mencho’s US-born stepson with a $5 million bounty. O3 was born in Santa Ana, California in 1984 and holds dual US-Mexican citizenship. He also faces US charges for drug trafficking; and is also known by other aliases like “Pelon” and “Tricky Tres”.

Once the most wanted person in both Mexico and the United States, he was killed during a high-stakes military operation on February 22, 2026.
