Chicago Violence Totals (Apr 10–Apr 13, 2026)
30 victims shot | 1 shooting homicide | 4 other fatalities/death investigations
Weekend started with shots fired into a CTA bus on the South Side and ended with a 10-year-old girl killed in a far South Side residential fire.
Fires, gunfire, crashes, and unexplained deaths overlapped across the South and West Sides, with spillover into other districts.
The grid absorbed multiple clusters of violence, a fatal fire, a pedestrian fatality, and routine instability that rarely slows.
Six teenagers were shot across Chicago from Friday to Monday morning. The victims include a 13-year-old boy grazed in the leg inside a residence, a 14-year-old and 15-year-old struck in a double shooting on Artesian, a 16-year-old male critically wounded in the neck during a triple shooting on Wolcott, a 16-year-old girl accidentally shot in the arm, and an 18-year-old hit twice in the leg on a scooter.

16-year-old male 6600 block of S Wolcott (Apr 10)
14-year-old male 3800 block of S Artesian (Apr 11)

18-year-old male 4300 block of S Wood (Apr 11)
16-year-old female 1200 W Washburne (Apr 12)
No teenagers were killed by gunfire this weekend.
In roughly 96 hours: multiple fatal incidents (fire + shooting homicide + pedestrian crash), three triple shootings, dozens of gunshot victims spread across South and Westside districts, vehicle chaos including a police response collision, and routine non-fatal violence plus accidental discharges.
Southside districts (especially 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th) and select Westside areas saw heavy activity.
Clusters showed overlap in time and style — vehicles pulling up, crowds targeted, arguments escalating, and even a CTA bus targeted shooting during school dismissal.
