The Chicago Teachers Union allowed a teacher Accused of Sexual Harassment of Students to continue to work in the school system and mentor teachers for National Board Certification. The teachers union violated Chicago Public Schools rules in this case. The CTU not only allowed him to continue to work with teachers and students but paid him to do so as a National Board Mentor.
A Sexual Predator worked for the teachers union. According to Monica Fuentes, a Chicago Public School teacher, she was assigned a mentor by the Chicago Teachers Union who is a sexual predator and was under investigation for inappropriate contact with students and staff in a Chicago High School.

We will be releasing evidence of a connected white teacher who could maneuver the public education system in Chicago to continue to work in the school system and get extra pay while accused of inappropriate contact with students. The accused individual continued to be on the payroll of the Chicago Teachers Union and transferred to another teaching job in the suburbs during his investigation of sexual contact with students.
He was a National Board Certified Mentor for the Chicago Teachers when he was under investigation for sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct with students and staff at a Chicago public High school.He did all of this while running a private bondage, kink, leather, fetish, and BDSM club out of his basement as a not-for-profit company while employed at the Chicago Public Schools, Galleria Domain 2 at the time located at 3459 N Kildare Ave, Chicago Illinois 60641-3831, the same address he used for his job in the Chicago Public Schools.
He had secondary employment never cleared with the Department of Ethics in Chicago Public Schools for conflicts of interest, which we see no record of. He got a sex club license to operate in a residential neighborhood on the North-side of Chicago designated as a not-for-profit business by the federal government.
The implications of this case go beyond the high school where he worked.
It shows the failure of the Chicago Public Schools, Department of Permits, Department of Buildings, Office of Inspector General, District 225, National Board Certification, Illinois State Board of Education, Secretary of State, Internal Revenue Service, Chicago, and National News media outlets to protect some of the most vulnerable children in our city.
Eric Skalinder is a well-connected union official who continued to be on the payroll of the Chicago Teachers Union. He was the Parliamentarian of the Union. He could override the President of the Union during official governance gatherings if he thought they violated the rules of the meeting. He continued to mentor teachers. He continued to go into schools and access students’ information and videos despite being accused ofinappropriate contact with students, grooming students, dating former students,talking to students on Tinder, and having sexual relations with teachers and former students.
In one case documented with the Chicago Public Schools, he had a relationship with a fellow teacher at the high school he worked at, and this gave him access to this teacher’s teenage child, who attended the same school. Through his relationship with his fellow teacher, he could be alone with the teacher’s adolescent child. Eric Skalinder admitted he transported this teenage child in his vehicle and his motorcycle multiple times in violation of CPS rules and may have taken the teachers’ teenage child to his house, where he had a sex dungeon in his basement.
April 6, 2020 – Eric Skalinder had his teaching license revoked.
February 6, 2020 – Eric Skalinder signed a letter to surrender his teaching license.
March 21, 2017 – Eric Skalinder was fired from his Glenbrook High School teaching job.
October 10, 2016 – Eric Skalinder hired as a Music teacher at Glenbrook High School.
September 23, 2016 – Eric Skalinder resigned from the Chicago Public Schools in lieu of disciplinary action.
January 19, 2016 – the first official report was made in the Chicago Public schools regarding Eric Skalinder inappropriate conduct with students and staff. 2014-2015 school year looks like he started some kind of relationship with a teacher at a Chicago high school and started driving her daughter home who also attended the same high school.

We are requesting a review of the denial of our request for the attachments to CPS FOIA N011050-051222. This is regarding Investigative report # 7820 of Eric Skalinder a known pedophile. It is in the public’s interest to see his method of grooming his students through text messages.
CPS is conjoining FOIA requests. The current request is for text messages used in an investigative report.
CPS quotes the texts messages in the investigative report so there is no reason that the originals could not be released.
We understand the need to redact information, but the contents of the text messages and evidence of this known pedophile are of public interest for the safety of children.
The Public Access Bureau has received the enclosed Request for Review of the response by Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request submitted by Dr. John Kugler. This office has determined that further action is warranted.
On May 12, 2022, Dr. Kugler submitted a FOIA request to CPS seeking copies of various records concerning a specific individual. On May 25, 2022, CPS responded that it had previously provided him with the requested records in response to a previous similar FOIA request. On June 6, 2022, Dr. Kugler submitted this Request for Review contesting the response by CPS, alleging that this request seeks records different from those referenced in CPS’s response.
As required under section 9.5(c) of FOIA (5 ILCS 140/9.5(c) (West 2020)), please provide this office with unredacted copies of the requested records for this office’s confidential review, together with a description of the efforts taken to locate responsive records, including the personnel consulted and repositories searched.
This information must be submitted to our office within seven (7) business days after receipt of this letter. Under FOIA, “[t]he Public Access Counselor shall forward a copy of the answer to the person submitting the request for review, with any alleged confidential information to which the request pertains redacted from the copy.
