we have paid conservatively over half a billion dollars to warehouse migrants in Chicago … look at these conditions and decide for yourself is this where the money is going … in the political business we call it pass throughs … a legit org gives money to another legit org to do something legit … like house migrants … yet the costs are tripled or quadrupled …
1st) to pay for whatever service is needed,
2nd) provider gets some change $$$
3rd) the rest is passed thru for political spending directly or indirectly to political candidates or “causes” in the case of patronage work …
… in many cases the “extra money” will be put in some kind of reserve fund or a general spending budget line.
… one tactic is to separate the extra money earned and let people forget about it and then spend in slowly on a special projects or “emergencies” …
… the other way is through the general spending or operating budget in larger organizations … the money gets dumped into a place where it can be spent on hiring or resources that then can be used for campaign work …
… not for profits can support causes that indirectly help candidates that align with the same position on the issue
… and last but not least, patronage … everyone working at these places is getting high salaries for the work they are doing and would be expected to contribute to campaigns financially or volunteer … they know who paid them … HiHo
