VIDEO: Moment when myself and other news crews were covering a shooting in Chicago, Illinois where three people were shot on the 2800 block of S. Kedzie Avenue, Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2024 when a shooting suspect came in the area around 6:25 p.m. and began firing several shots nearby towards someone else in the area. Reporters, videographers and myself took cover. Suspect fled, Chicago police helicopter is above along with several police vehicles. Here is what I captured.

Preliminary: Officers responded to a gunshot detection technology alert and found a 19-year-old male victim unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds in the body. He was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced. There are no offenders in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.

A 19-year-old female victim self-transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound in the leg initially listed in good condition.

A 20-year-old male victim self-transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds in the body initially listed in critical condition.
