This follows a person shot near Governor Pritzker’s home this week as well, beating of a pregnant woman, mobs of teens and a knife fight by migrants last month on Michigan Ave …

200 block of E. Grand On June 14, 2024, at approximately am … the 50-year-old male victim and an unknown offender were having a verbal altercation outside at the above location when the offender produced a firearm and began to fire shots in the victim’s direction.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his left shoulder and was transported to Northwestern Hospital, where he is listed in good condition.

A weapon was recovered.

No one is in custody and Area Detectives are investigating. (18th Dist) 14-JUN-2024 AM

The victim was conscious, standing, and talking easily with first responders, according to the video provided to CWBChicago. A single gunshot wound was visible on his left shoulder. He has been taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

On Grand Avenue, a single shell casing was visible under a parked car.

Witnesses told police that the gunman ran into the Whole Foods parking garage after the shooting. The officers sealed off the garage and called in canine units to help with the search. They also located a firearm on the garage ramp.

The suspect was described as a Black man, possibly in his 30s, bearded with long dreads. He was wearing a green shirt and orange pants, according to an initial description shared on the local police radio frequency.
