A $25,000 reward has been offered for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in relation to Neuman’s murder, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation announced Thursday night.

Ambush Killing … Reporting is saying this was a retired CPD (bomb technician) was shot to death in Garfield Park. We’re told the victim had a previous confrontation with a group of juveniles and they returned to settle a score. It’s only a matter of time before an on-duty CPD becomes a victim of an ambush killing.

No one is in custody and the circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation by Area Four Detectives.

“Larry Neuman, a Transportation Security Specialist-Explosives, joined TSA in 2010 and worked at both O’Hare and Midway airports during his career,” a TSA spokesperson said in a statement. “In his current position, Larry trained the screening workforce at both airports to detect explosives and other potential threats. We are deeply saddened by his passing and extend our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”
