Up Up and Away … Crime is Going Up In Chicago

Comparing the Memorial Weekend crime stats from the Chicago Police Department, there is no doubt that crime is going up in the city week to week. We are not math people, but we figured, doing some quick calculations, that murders have gone up 8.5% in one week, and shootings have gone up 25% in one week.

The Memorial weekend saw the largest murder and shooting numbers in 10 years; the next week, the numbers were a higher percentage. And that is not all. The CompStat data sheets show that crime is up 44% over four years, with carjackings up 169% in District 9 where we are located.

One can say give the dude a chance, but someone should send a text that the honeymoon is over now, get to work on the promises you made on the campaign trail, Better, Stronger, safer Chicago.

do the math yourselves …
