7-year-old boy shot dead … 2300 block of W. Jackson on June 18, 2024, at approximately 3:02pm … officers responded to the above location and observed a 7-year-old male victim who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
The officers immediately rendered aid and transported the victim to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced.
No offenders are in custody at this time and Area Three detectives are investigating.
The boy was walking out of the Oakley Square Apartments where he lived and was struck by gunfire.
Jai’mani loved playing football.
Family members are heartbroken and angry. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
